An Update.

Hello, quiet little blog…

It’s my last week of being 25 and if these past few days have been indicative of what is to come, can I please hit the “pause” button? Getting older is expensive. Birthday weeks are supposed to be all about treating yourself, right? Well Bruce, my trusty Honda Fit, decided he was going to bypass my dreams of mani-pedis and massages to get himself a “new pair of shoes” (a cute-sy little phrase that auto mechanics like to use for FOUR NEW TIRES), a new battery AND new front brake pads. Needless to say, this was not exactly the shopping spree I had in mind. The silver lining to all of this is that I can actually feel a difference in my car! Just as I was developing knee pain when I was running on expired running shoes, maybe my little Fit was hurting from worn out tires. I hate car talk, but after witnessing a friend go through the car-buying process, I’m going to do my best to take care of this one.

For the record, here’s what I looked like before I had to spend close to a thousand dollars on my car:

(We took Alex and Shannon for their first Korean BBQ experience! — Ook-Kook Korean BBQ)

AND since it’s been ages since I’ve posted, here are a few things that I have bookmarked from around the www lately:

— Wisdom from the streets of NY (“Everyone needs to have their own blueprint. Just because it looks good on someone else, doesn’t mean it’s going to look good on you.” Humans of New York)

Dim Sum I must try!

— Recipe for Kale Pesto since our kale plants just keep growing!

— Future hair cut. Nailed it.

— Colorful Veggie prints, seen at the Renegade Craft Fair

— Brilliant idea for the lazy scrapbooker/hoarder who can’t get rid of ticket stubs and loose change (shield your eyes, mom!)
